The following photos illustrates the cooling tower infills and drift eliminators. That's why after some period of time we need to clean the infills. In worse cases, we need to replace the infills. In this example, the infills are made from cengal wood.
Wet cooling tower infills
Dirty and crooked drift eliminators. These drift eliminators were then replaced with a new set. The infills arrangements are important to create droplets of hot water dropping from the top. The water droplets (which is hot) will then progressively be cooled down by the air which is sucked pass through the infills from outside by the cooling tower fan.
